Partial closures at Will's Fitness raise concerns over operations and refunds
An investigation by the Shanghai rumor-refutation platform confirmed that some stores were closed, under maintenance, or had suspended pool services, and the company admitted closing some underperforming stores due to operating pressure. The investigation also found that an online uniform refund announcement was forged and that most stores were operating normally; the company said it had completed 115 million yuan in financing. Progress: some closures were confirmed; the online uniform refund announcement was debunked. Entity involved: Will's Fitness.

Members seek redress as wages go unpaid, stores close and card refunds stall
Since 2023, Will's Fitness has closed stores in multiple locations and fallen behind on employee wages and mall rent; members seeking card refunds face 30%–40% fees and waits of one to two years; one member in Hangzhou paid 210,000 yuan for a card and then all three stores closed. The company debunked an announcement claiming 'capital chain rupture and full refunds' as forged. Many members are seeking redress; in July it stopped selling long-term cards.
