On December 31, 2025, Dongfeng Honda Engine Co., Ltd. underwent a business registration change: Dongfeng Group and other shareholders exited, GAC Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. became the sole shareholder, and the company was renamed GAC Honda Engine Co., Ltd. GAC Group had approved in September 2025 a plan for GAC Honda to acquire Dongfeng Motor Group's 50% stake via public transfer for a floor price of 1.172 billion yuan, funded by cash capital increase.
