Beibingyang grape juice blend claimed "NFC juice added" but actual content was only 0.005%, market regulator steps in
In April 2026, consumers and media noted that the packaging of a Beibingyang grape juice blend drink highlighted "NFC juice" as a selling point, but the ingredients list showed NFC juice added at only about 0.005%, prompting mockery that "only one drop is added per carton." The Beijing Daxing District Market Supervision Administration said it had opened an investigation and evidence collection. Impact and handling: the incident sparked discussion of the beverage industry phenomenon of "tiny additions, major promotion"; as of retrieval, no penalty result was seen. In 2017, Beibingyang's "soda water" product was also questioned for playing a concept edge-ball because it did not contain sodium bicarbonate. Progress: case opened for investigation. Involved entity: Beijing Yiqing Food Group Co., Ltd. (Beibingyang brand). Related scope: Beibingyang grape juice blend drink.
