'Lebo' Formula Found with Salmonella; Hong Kong Milk Exceeded Bacterial Limit

In 2018, Junlebao's 'Lebo' stage 1 infant formula was found to contain Salmonella. The State Administration for Market Regulation issued two letters in succession, citing deficiencies in food safety management and requiring removal from shelves and suspension of sales. In August 2026, the Hong Kong Centre for Food Safety found in a sample test that Junlebao ambient pure milk exceeded the total bacterial count limit; import permission was revoked. Junlebao said the cause was contamination from damage during loading and unloading at a Hong Kong warehouse. It was removed from shelves and sales were suspended; Hong Kong revoked the import permission.
