    Cartoon image ruled to infringe copyright in 'Xiaoming'

    Several young creators sued Uni-President, alleging that the cartoon image on the packaging of its "Xiaoming Tongxue" beverage was substantially similar to their "Xiaoming" image. The first-instance court ruled that Uni-President stop the infringement and pay RMB 500,000; Uni-President said there was no dispute over the brand name and bottle shape and appealed.
