Palace Museum Taobao's 'Qiao Gege Doll' accused of copying Japan's Azone, urgently delisted and recalled

In March 2018, the 'Qiao Gege Doll' launched by Palace Museum Taobao was questioned by netizens over its body being highly similar to Japanese Azone dolls; it was immediately taken off sale, recalled, and refunded after launch. The Palace Museum responded that the head and clothing were original and the body used a patented model authorized by a partner factory, and decided to remake the mold; then-director Shan Jixiang later said the intellectual property issue had basically been resolved. Progress: company response. Involved entity: Palace Museum Cultural Creative (Palace Museum Taobao). Related scope: allegations of plagiarism in cultural creative products.
