Oppein custom furniture formaldehyde dispute; subsidiaries fined

Multiple consumers complained that after Oppein custom furniture was installed, indoor formaldehyde exceeded the standard and the boards did not meet the promised environmental grade; in one case, the court found that the room's formaldehyde still exceeded the standard and ordered Oppein to bear 50% of the losses. On penalties, Oppein's Tianjin subsidiary was fined 40,000 yuan by the Tianjin Emergency Management Bureau for failing to put signs at safety evacuation exits; the Wuxi factory was fined 20,000 yuan because the paint exhaust workshop was not sealed, and was later fined 199,000 yuan for entrusting sludge disposal to a unit without qualifications. Dealer management and product environmental claims were questioned.
