    BYD Seagull and Dolphin recalled in multiple batches

    In 2024 BYD recalled 16,666 Seagulls (rearview camera software fault); in September of the same year it recalled 96,714 Dolphins and Yuan PLUS vehicles because capacitors in the electric power steering controller may develop microcracks, short-circuit, overheat, or even catch fire. Remedy is an OTA update or installation of insulating gaskets.
