Moutai Prince liquor bottled into recycled bottles to impersonate Feitian Moutai
Procuratorate Daily reported a counterfeit sales case in Chongqing: suspects collected empty Feitian Moutai bottles, caps, and ribbons, used an automated production line to fill low-priced Moutai Prince liquor, and sold it as Feitian Moutai; from 2020 to 2024 the counterfeit sales amounted to more than 770,000 yuan, and relevant personnel were sentenced. It exposed the counterfeit industrial chain involving recycled bottles for high-end baijiu.

Bribery case of former Moutai Group chairman Yuan Renguo
Former Moutai Group chairman Yuan Renguo used his authority over distribution rights and quota approvals to benefit dealers, accepting bribes of 112.9 million yuan; his wife and son made 230 million yuan from illegal Moutai liquor operations. In 2020 he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Multiple senior executives in the Moutai system were brought down, and the group rectified its distribution system.
