Novartis signs licensing agreement with Abogen Biosciences worth up to $7.8 billion
Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis has entered a licensing agreement with China-based Abogen Biosciences worth up to $7.8 billion. Novartis will pay $575 million upfront for global rights to Abogen's lead asset, an early-stage experimental messenger RNA therapy for autoimmune disease, with an additional $7.2 billion in milestone payments, plus an exclusive option to license Abogen's assets developed on its RNA platform. Abogen announced the deal in a statement on Friday.

Abogen completes over $700 million Series C funding
Abogen announced that it had completed a Series C financing round totaling more than $700 million, led by Temasek, Invesco Developing Markets Fund, Zhengxingu Capital, Hillhouse Ventures, Yunfeng Capital and Lilly Asia Ventures, among others.
