Iowa attorney general sues ADI Global Distribution over alleged China ties of surveillance cameras
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird announced a lawsuit against ADI Global Distribution, alleging the company hides that the surveillance cameras it distributes are made in China by two companies with ties to the Chinese military, and that the cameras make Iowans' private information available to the Chinese government and military. Nebraska filed a similar lawsuit late last year.

Iowa Attorney General sues ADI Global Distribution over China-made security camera disclosures
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird filed a lawsuit against video surveillance distributor ADI Global Distribution Inc. (ADI), alleging the company for years deceived consumers by selling security cameras manufactured by Hikvision and Dahua — companies identified on a U.S. national security risk list — without any statement or disclaimer disclosing the security issues and government listings, and at times changing labels on the cameras to trick U.S. distributors. The suit is brought under the Iowa Consumer Fraud Act to obtain relief for Iowa consumers and to stop the alleged deception about the safety of their sensitive, private data.
