Alden sues Lee over takeover bid and director nominations
Alden Global Capital filed a lawsuit accusing Lee Enterprises' board of denying shareholders a voice regarding Alden's takeover bid. Alden asked the court to order Lee to accept its three director nominees; Lee said Alden's claims were baseless and that it did not think the hedge fund would prevail.

Alden to acquire remaining Tribune Publishing shares
Tribune Publishing and Alden Global Capital announced a definitive agreement under which Alden will acquire all outstanding Tribune common shares it does not already own for $17.25 per share in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021, subject to approvals and other conditions.

Tribune Publishing announced the appointment of Dana Goldsmith Needleman and Christopher Minnetian, executives with funds affiliated with Alden Global Capital, to its board, expanding it from six to eight members effective immediately.
