Alliance Finance fined for banking breaches

Alliance Finance was fined $21.4 million for breaches of the Bank of Jamaica Act and the Banking Services Act. The report says the company was fined on 28 counts of lending currency without authorization and for eight breaches of the Banking Services Act.

Mr. Tavares-Finson said the company was fined $50,000 each on 28 counts of lending currency without authorisation under the Bank of Jamaica Act, as well as $2.5 million for eight breaches of the Banking Services Act.
