Smith has launched the Voltex X, an outdoor split-system heat pump water heater developed in partnership with Panasonic that uses carbon dioxide (CO2) as refrigerant and can operate at ambient temperatures as low as -31.7 C, placing the heat pump equipment outdoors while keeping the hot water storage tank indoors.
