Operating Taiwan office without approval; New Taipei prosecutors grant deferred prosecution
According to an investigation by the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office, Aohai Technology set up an office in Taiwan without permission from Taiwan’s competent authorities from February 2023 to January 2025, recruited sales staff to promote charging and green energy products, and channeled about US$889,000 in operating funds through 17 remittances via its Hong Kong subsidiary Aohai International, violating the Act Governing Relations Between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area. In February 2026, the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office ordered Aohai and Shen and Yu, two successive heads of its Taiwan operations, to donate NT$150,000, NT$100,000, and NT$200,000 respectively, then granted deferred prosecution.
