Astellas files patent-infringement complaint against pharmaceutical companies
Astellas Pharma Inc. and affiliated plaintiffs filed a complaint in Delaware against 21 pharmaceutical companies, alleging that their proposed generic versions of Myrbetriq would infringe the ’780 patent. The plaintiffs sought court relief; the allegations are claims in the complaint.

Astellas and Adaptimmune agree to develop T-cell therapies
Astellas Pharma and Adaptimmune said they would select three molecular targets and develop T-cell-based therapies against them, including CAR-T and T-cell receptor therapies. Astellas agreed to pay $50 million upfront and up to $897 million in milestone payments.

Astellas Pharma acquired Xyphos Biosciences for up to $665 million. Astellas paid $120 million at closing, and Xyphos became a wholly owned subsidiary of Astellas.
