Bedrock Detroit and Boston Dynamics are testing Boston Dynamics' Spot robot dogs in downtown Detroit, exploring uses including litter pickup, building inspection, security patrols and package handling. Downtown litter-pickup testing is slated to begin as early as the week after the Oct. 9, 2026 report, following six to eight months of quiet work, with the team planning to monitor the test phase for a few more months before any live deployment.
