    US recall over self-ignition risk in electric unicycle battery packs

    The 900Wh LG M50T battery packs produced from 2019 to 2021 and equipped on Begode (formerly Gotway) MSP, Nikola+, RS and other electric unicycles posed a self-ignition and fire risk; US distributor eWheels received 14 fire reports and one person was injured. In addition, the rider community had long reported that Begode models suffered “cutout” causing riders to fall. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall, requiring affected vehicles to stop being used and battery packs to be replaced.
