    In a 2015 State Administration for Industry and Commerce sampling inspection, eyewear from 12 brands including Bolon failed. In 2021, Bolon affiliate Xiamen Yari Optics was fined RMB 218,300 by the Xiamen Siming District Market Supervision Bureau for publishing 38 contact lens (medical device) advertisements without review, failing to include statutory warnings and improperly using physician images. It was ordered to rectify and fined.
