Changsha's 838-meter 'Sky City' skyscraper halted and left unfinished without approval

In 2013, Broad Group founder Zhang Yue claimed that the 838-meter-tall Sky City, the world's tallest building, would be built in 90 days using prefabricated assembly. After the project held a groundbreaking ceremony in Wangcheng, Changsha, it was halted because it had not obtained planning and construction approval and was accused of construction without a permit; only the foundation was completed, and it was left idle for a long time, becoming an 'unfinished project'. Its construction schedule and structural safety were also questioned by the industry. The project is halted, and Zhang Yue insists the doubts are unfounded.
