Wartime production and forced labor
During the Second World War, the company produced gasoline containers and armaments for the Nazi military and used forced labor, including prisoners of war. Later accounts describing Max Brose as a non-ideological party member who treated forced laborers well have been contested by scholars and journalists. The subject remains a documented and disputed part of Brose’s corporate history.
