COVID-19 outbreak and passenger handling controversy
The ship was associated with confirmed COVID-19 cases during a March 2020 voyage. Passengers were quarantined or disembarked at several ports, and infections were reported after calls in Puerto Rico, Marseille and Savona. A subsequent lawsuit alleged inadequate handling of symptomatic passengers and disease risks.

Baltic wastewater-discharge report
Sveriges Television reported that wastewater from the ship was discharged into the Baltic Sea rather than delivered to port facilities. The report raised environmental and compliance concerns, although it did not state that MARPOL 73/78 had been breached.
