    DS's Collapse and Huge Losses in China: Both JV Partners Acknowledge Losses and Exit; Employees 'Packaged' and Transferred to Baoneng

    After Changan PSA was established, it mainly promoted the DS brand, but sales remained low for a long time and huge losses continued. At the end of 2019, Changan Automobile listed its 50% stake for transfer at a floor price of RMB 1.63 billion and exited after acknowledging a loss of about RMB 2.2 billion; PSA subsequently exited as well, Baoneng took over completely and renamed it Shenzhen Baoneng Automobile, and the joint venture was dissolved after only eight years. Employees had protested being "sold off in a package" and demanded negotiated compensation; Baoneng Auto subsequently fell into wage arrears. The joint venture was dissolved, and DS stopped domestic production in China.
