    On May 24, 2024, the Xuzhou Intermediate People's Court sentenced Cao Guangjing to life imprisonment at first instance, involving bribery and leaking inside information. The court found that the bribery spanned his tenures as deputy general manager and chairman of China Three Gorges Corporation and vice governor of Hubei Province, totaling more than 216 million yuan; the entire amount cannot be attributed to his period at Three Gorges.
