Central ecological inspection: CNBM subsidiaries penalized 521 times for environmental violations
The Fifth Central Ecological and Environmental Protection Inspection Team gave feedback to China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd., noting that the group did not attach enough importance to ecological and environmental protection, that environmental violations by subsidiaries were frequent, and that they had been subject to a cumulative 521 administrative penalties by various localities; some cement and mining enterprises had problems including excessive emissions, illegal mining, and ecological damage. Impact and handling: the inspection team required the group to seriously hold accountable those derelict in duty and formulate a rectification plan. Progress: regulatory notification. China National Building Material Group deputy general manager Huang Anzhong and one other under investigation
On December 31, 2019, the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission reported that Huang Anzhong, deputy general manager of China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd., was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and was placed under disciplinary review by the discipline inspection and supervision group of the CCDI and NSC stationed at SASAC and under supervisory investigation; at the same time, it was reported that Wu Suhua, former deputy general manager and chief accountant of China National Building Material Group Import and Export Corporation, was also placed under investigation. Impact and handling: previously, in November 2019, SASAC adjusted the leadership team of China National Building Material Group. Progress: case filing and investigation.
