    Colossal Biosciences launches AI platform GenoMorph to accelerate de-extinction research

    Colossal Biosciences released GenoMorph, an AI platform combining advanced 3D morphology, comparative genomics and developmental biology to screen target genes for gene editing in de-extinction projects with limited genomic data. The company is using the platform to advance its dodo de-extinction program and said it has identified roughly 2,300 candidate DNA editing targets for dodo craniofacial morphology. The company also said its Nicobar pigeon flock has reached 36 birds and that it has produced key cells capable of developing into eggs and sperm.
