1982
1981 Daet massacre
During the Marcos-era authoritarian period, government forces opened fire on protesters demanding higher copra prices and criticizing alleged electoral irregularities and the Coconut Federation of the Philippines. Four people were killed immediately and at least 50 were injured; historical accounts also report additional deaths from serious wounds. Four victims are commemorated at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani Wall of Remembrance.
