Daimler Truck North America closed its truck manufacturing plant in northwest Portland on October 30, 2026. The company said Portland would continue to serve as its North American headquarters and production would move to its facilities in the Carolinas.

NHTSA announces multiple vehicle safety recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a series of safety recalls affecting passenger cars, electric vehicles, commercial buses, and heavy trucks, including Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, Rivian R1S and R1T, Toyota Camry Hybrid and BZ Woodland, Blue Bird school buses, Thomas Built Buses, Volvo and Mack trucks, and other vehicles, with free repairs at dealerships.
