Allegations concerning forced labor in Xinjiang
Daqo has been reported as allegedly connected to the use of forced labor in Xinjiang. In response to the allegations, the company shortlisted three auditors in May 2021 to assess its operations. The issue contributed to regulatory scrutiny of the company and of Xinjiang-origin solar materials.

U.S. Entity List designation
In June 2021, the U.S. Department of Commerce placed Xinjiang Daqo New Energy Co. on the Bureau of Industry and Security’s Entity List. The designation was associated with concerns regarding alleged forced labor and Xinjiang supply chains.
