    Cloudflare announces acquisition of Deno

    Cloudflare announced on Friday that it is acquiring Deno, the startup behind the Deno programming runtime co-founded by Ryan Dahl and Bert Belder. Cloudflare principal engineer Kenton Varda said the acquisition will be used to improve its Workers programming model and platform, while Dahl said his team is joining Cloudflare to make the Workers programming model a mainstream way to build servers. Financial terms were not disclosed; Deno had raised a total of $26 million, including a Series A led by Sequoia.
