Steering knuckle, rear axle seat heat-treatment defects risk wheel detachment in large recall

In June 2021, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall with SAMR for some Dongfeng Nissan Teana, New Murano, domestically produced Infiniti and Venucia vehicles because insufficient heat treatment of steering knuckles and rear axle seats in some vehicles could, under extreme circumstances, deform and crack, causing wheels to detach and posing a safety hazard. In addition, owners had long complained that steering tie rods on Nissan models broke and were refused warranty by the manufacturer as 'self-caused breakage.' In February 2026, some X-Trail vehicles were recalled again due to the risk of engine bearing wear and crankshaft seizure. Free replacement of parts in risk batches.
