Environmental contamination at the former Cornell-Dubilier site
The former Cornell-Dubilier manufacturing site in South Plainfield, New Jersey, became subject to Superfund remediation. Environmental accounts associate manufacturing between 1936 and 1962 with releases of PCBs and chlorinated volatile organic compounds, including trichloroethylene, affecting soil, sediment, and groundwater. PCBs were used in capacitors manufactured at the site.
