Illegal fishing and deceptive sustainability claims

Dudley Market, owner Conner Mitchell, and business partners Taylor Grant and Cody Martin were reported to have been involved in sourcing illegally caught fish during 2020 and 2021 and in falsely advertising the restaurant's seafood as sustainable, transparent, traceable, and lawfully procured. A June 2026 settlement reportedly included a $100,000 fine, commercial fishing-vessel bans for the three individuals, and a required public corrective notice.
