    Wake County suspends ElectSure after possible cyberattack

    The Wake County Board of Elections suspended its use of software vendor ElectSure after the company reported a possible cyberattack that may have exposed information about poll workers. ElectSure notified the county on Aug. 7 that its system had been compromised, and the county revoked the vendor's access to its precinct official database. There is no evidence that voting machines, ballots, voter registration records or vote-counting systems were affected.
