Federal civil-fraud case concerning sight defects

The U.S. government sued EOTech's former parent company, L-3 Technologies, alleging that it concealed known defects in certain EOTech sights. The allegations involved thermal drift, which could shift the aiming point in extreme temperatures, and moisture incursion or reticle fade, which could fog the viewing glass and reduce reticle brightness. L-3 settled for $25.6 million and repaired the moisture-related defect; the supplied material does not document a complete remedy for thermal drift.
