    eWeLink cloud platform flaw allowed remote device hijacking

    Bitdefender disclosed that on the eWeLink platform, a guessable device ID was enough to take over other people's Sonoff lights and sockets worldwide and push malicious firmware; the vendor fixed the issue in 2019. In 2024, the ZBBridge gateway was again found to have CVE vulnerabilities including unauthorized takeover. The vulnerabilities were fixed.
