Creditors' lawsuit over leveraged sale
Creditors sued Blackstone after the 2007 sale of Extended Stay Hotels to Lightstone, alleging that Blackstone extracted approximately $2.1 billion in value and knew the resulting debt burden could be unsustainable. Blackstone settled the litigation in June 2013 for $10 million without the reference material establishing an admission of wrongdoing.
