Xi'an Store Security Guards Bar Customer in Camouflage Pants as 'Migrant Worker'

In September 2020, a man wearing camouflage pants was stopped by security at the entrance of Fangsuo Bookstore in Xi'an and barred from entering because he was thought to be a "migrant worker"; the video sparked public criticism that physical bookstores discriminate against laborers. Fangsuo apologized, saying the outsourced security staff mistook him for a construction worker and promising to strengthen training.
