Maine Victorian Lemonade alcohol-content dispute
Maine officials restricted Victorian Lemonade sales to consumers aged 21 and over after concerns arose that the product’s natural fermentation could produce trace alcohol. Fentimans disputed the practical significance of the classification, stating that the drink contained approximately 0.3% alcohol by volume and that a very large quantity would be required to produce an intoxicating effect.
