FIS launched Project Keystone, a network for digital money developed with U.S. banks including Citizens, Fifth Third, Huntington Bank, KeyBank, and M&T Bank, built on FIS's Lyriq platform to let banks issue, transfer, and settle real bank deposits in digital form.

CFPB sues Fifth Third over alleged unauthorized accounts
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau filed a lawsuit against Fifth Third Bancorp, alleging that it opened bank and credit card accounts without consumers’ knowledge and used aggressive sales tactics. Fifth Third called the lawsuit “unnecessary and unwarranted” and said it would defend itself.

Fifth Third discloses customer data sharing by employees
Fifth Third said a small group of employees who may have been tied to a fraud ring shared the personal data of about 100 customers with people outside the bank. The company described the activity as an orchestrated effort to defraud customers, but said it was not a data breach.
