Ford Mustang: Braking Defect Recall
Recall announced
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ordered Ford Motor Company to recall about 200,000 vehicles in the United States over braking problems affecting certain Lincoln MKZ, Ford Fusion and Ford Mustang models. Ford said owners would need to take affected cars to a dealer for no-cost repairs. The defects could leave brake lights on and, on some vehicles, allow the car to shift out of park without the driver's foot on the brake.

Remediation — Ford
To avoid having these issues in the near future, owners of the affected cars will need to take their vehicles to a Lincoln or Ford dealer for no-cost repairs.

Ford recalls 330,784 Mustang vehicles over backup-camera wiring concerns
Recall announced
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a recall affecting 330,784 Ford Mustangs produced between 2015 and 2017. The vehicles may have loose or damaged backup-camera wiring that can cause a blank or distorted rearview image and could lead to a crash. Ford said it would replace the decklid harness or rearview camera free of charge and reimburse some owners for prior related repairs.
Company response
Remediation — Ford
Ford will address the issue by replacing the decklid harness or the rearview camera. Like the previous recalls issued by the NHTSA, this will be performed free of charge, with Ford notifying owners by mail starting on March 7, 2022.
Refund or compensation — Ford
The automaker will also reimburse owners who previously paid for a repair related to this issue.

The root cause of the problem is the wiring harness found within the decklid, located between the taillights of the Ford Mustang. The NHTSA said in its recall notice that "a loss of electrical conductivity caused by a damaged decklid harness and/or an insufficiently soldered header connector internal to the camera can lead to a loss of rearview image."
