Antitrust investigation involving the National Electric Light Association
General Electric was found to have acquired approximately three quarters of the National Electric Light Association, an organization through which GE licensed patented lighting products. The arrangement led to an antitrust investigation, after which the association was dissolved. The episode concerns the historical General Electric lighting business rather than a modern GE Lighting consumer-product incident.
