Los Angeles County suspended use of Genasys during the January 2025 Southern California wildfires after an alert was mistakenly transmitted to nearly 10 million residents. The county later resumed use of the system.

Belgrade protest LRAD allegations
LRAD technology was referenced in controversy over alleged use of long-range acoustic devices during anti-corruption protests in Belgrade. Genasys said the evidence available to it did not directly indicate that its devices were involved, while reporting about procurement suggested that its equipment had been installed on law-enforcement vehicles present at the protests.
