    GameSpy server shutdown controversy

After acquiring GameSpy Technologies, Glu increased integration costs and shut down servers supporting older games in December 2012. Developers and consumers criticized the action because it was carried out without clear advance warning. Glu later announced the closure of the remaining GameSpy multiplayer services in 2014.
