    In June 2013, GAC chairman Zhang Fangyou was taken away to assist investigation because of involvement in the Liu Tienan case, and returned to his post about two months later; the Liu Tienan case judgment showed that Zhang Fangyou had, at Liu’s request, arranged for his son Liu Decheng to hold a nominal paid position at GAC. No personal sanction against Zhang Fangyou was seen, and he retired at retirement age in 2016.
