Halifax announces a £3 monthly fee for its Reward account
Halifax announced that from June, Reward account customers who pay in less than £1,500 will be charged £3 a month; the monthly reward will increase to £5, with a choice of benefits also offered.

Lloyds Banking Group suffered an online banking outage on January 1 that left customers of its Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland operations unable to access their accounts online for several hours. The group said online and mobile banking had returned to normal.
