Hansoh Pharmaceutical Subsidiary Fined and Confiscated 25.54 Million Yuan for Kickbacks to Doctors via Fake Academic Events

The Enshi City Market Supervision Administration in Hubei found that Jiangsu Hansoh Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Hansoh Pharmaceutical, paid a total of 860,200 yuan in service fees to 46 doctors through fake academic activities to promote drugs. Problems included lack of hospital consent, repeated lectures, and forged meeting materials and sign-in sheets. It confiscated illegal gains of 23.4428 million yuan and imposed a fine of 2.1 million yuan, totaling 25.54 million yuan. Media questioned its "kickback-driven sales" model and high sales expenses (totaling 10.5 billion yuan over three years); the company said it was following up internally.
