    hao123 download site hid malicious code to hijack traffic

    Huorong Security disclosed that software downloaded from Baidu-owned skycn.net and soft.hao123.com would be silently implanted with malicious code, hijacking navigation, browser homepages and e-commerce traffic. Baidu admitted the problem, saying the downloader was developed by an outsourced team and used underground industry practices to defraud affiliate revenue; it cleaned up the code, reported the matter to police and publicly apologized. Baidu cleaned the malicious code and called police, and hao123's reputation was damaged.
