HC-One fined after resident’s fatal choking incident
HC-One Limited pleaded guilty to breaching health and safety laws and was fined £640,000 after a resident at Orchard Care Home choked to death. The HSE investigation found that staff had not been properly trained and had provided food unsuitable for the resident’s diet.

Welltower and Safanad-led group recapitalize HC-One
Welltower announced a recapitalization of HC-One in partnership with a Safanad-led investment group. Welltower provided a £540 million senior secured loan and a £55 million equity investment; the recapitalization was described as de-leveraging HC-One, extending its debt maturity and providing new equity.
