Kenvil plant explosion
An explosion at the Hercules Kenvil, New Jersey plant destroyed at least fifteen buildings and detonated approximately twenty-five tons of explosives. Contemporary reports described fifty-one immediate fatalities, roughly two hundred injured people, and additional workers missing. The site also experienced explosions in 1934 and 1989.
